Current philanthropic foundations are all born out of inequality, when extremely wealthy individuals and corporations donate money to found them. Does this structurally inhibit foundations from responding effectively to growing inequality of wealth? Could crowd funding or other networked organizing strategies be used to foment a more democratic charitable infrastructure?
