Netgain Challenge

From Anna Van Lenten
Attempts to use programs that block tracking or unwanted pop-ups, or malware, have the added effect of preventing me from viewing content, especially videos and images. So I usually try to use a different browser (I'm on Chrome typically) -- Safari or Firefox. However, those browsers, without the protections on Chrome, have become so riddled with popups and malware so as to make using them impossible. It's really difficult to be a layperson and use these programs--they purport to allow you to selectively inhibit their protections so that on a case by case basis, you can halt them and view a video. But it's too hard and I can't figure it out.

THE CHALLENGE IS HOW TO HELP A LAYPERSON LIKE ME WHO IS MOTIVATED BUT NOT SO MUCH THAT I'M GOING TO GO DOWN WORMHOLES OF RESEARCH, PROTECT MY BROWSING ENVIRONMENT /EXPERIENCE YET LET IT BE AS FULL AS POSSIBLE.
